Dow's Lbv Porto

Dow's Lbv Porto is listed in The Liquor Outlet’s fortified wine & vermouth selection. Match the full expression name when comparing it with another product from the same brand. The serving suggestions below offer a starting point for exploring it on its own or with food and other ingredients.

This listing is for the 750 ml size.

Use a measured amount when adding this wine to a cocktail so you can repeat the balance you prefer. For a first trial, choose a recipe that calls for the exact type on the bottle, rather than treating all fortified wines and vermouths as interchangeable. Sweet and dry styles change a recipe differently. Taste a small pour on its own before deciding whether to adjust the other ingredients.

For serving without a cocktail recipe, try a small chilled pour or a little over ice, with a modest citrus twist if you like. Start with the wine itself and add only one element at a time. Reseal and refrigerate opened vermouth, and follow any storage directions on the label for other fortified wines. A smaller bottle can be useful if you only use a little at a time in mixed drinks.

For a side-by-side comparison, keep the serving temperature and glass consistent. Change the bottle rather than the entire recipe so you can judge the difference more clearly.
