Avión Silver Tequila

Avión Silver is the brand’s unaged tequila, described by its producer as crisp and fruit forward. Made from blue agave grown in Mexico’s highlands, it works in cocktails or over ice. Fresh lime and orange liqueur make a simple Margarita; use a restrained amount of sweetener and let the tequila set the flavor.

This listing is for the 750 ml size. At a 1-ounce cocktail measure, that volume provides approximately 25 pours before allowing for spills or a different recipe.

For a Margarita variation, shake 1 ounce of tequila with three-quarters of an ounce of fresh lime juice and half an ounce of orange liqueur over ice, then strain into a glass with fresh ice. Taste before adding syrup. The sweetness of the orange liqueur and the sharpness of the lime determine how much, if any, extra sweetener you need. A partial salt rim lets you choose salted or unsalted sips.

For a longer drink, use grapefruit soda, ice and a squeeze of lime. Add the soda after the other ingredients and stir gently to preserve its bubbles. If you would rather explore the tequila itself, begin with a small pour at room temperature, then add a little water or an ice cube. Those are different ways to serve the same bottle, so choose the approach that suits your taste.
