BEHIND THE DRINK

The story & background

The Boulevardier combines the bitter-orange and vermouth pairing with whiskey. That makes it a useful comparison with the gin-based Negroni: the structure is related, but the base spirit changes the flavor.

This spirit-led drink depends on accurate measures and controlled dilution. Stir with fresh ice until chilled; choose the base spirit first, then use the supporting ingredients in the written proportions.
